Any polishing compound will work, all your doing is polishing off a coating they put on the barrel. Unlike the gun itself which is super hard the barrel polishes very easy. Some even do it by hand with no polisher.

A dremel with the stuff that comes with it works fine. Not tough to do at all.

Thanks good to know. Not worried about it cosmetically just wanted to make sure that there isn't some sort of binding that could affect the performance.

For the love of god just shoot it. Every pistol I have owned does it.

Those scuffs and scratches are character marks. They show that the gun is a duty gun and not a safe queen. I've been around for awhile and have suffered a few dings along the way myself, but Mrs. Muggsy still loves me just the way I am. Let that be a lesson to you.

Got some slight marks on my new CT380 barrel hood too - just from racking the slide a couple hundred times. Even though I've had it for almost 6 weeks, haven't been out to a range yet to shoot it.

Same kind of marks on my Ruger LCP, KT P32, Colt Government .380, PM9 and CW45.

I have them on my CW380 also. I haven't had any issues with mine after the break in period. Have approx. 500 rds through it. I agree with the previous post. I'm going to lightly file and polish the sharp areas on the slide too. Couldn't hurt. Will definitely make things cycle smoother.

All my semi auto pistols have those wear marks on the barrel hood to some degree.
