I'm still grasping the concept of anything not blued or stainless but I think it might look nice. There are certainly a bunch of colored guns out there now days.

I say go for it myself. The 1911G is a heck of a gun, mine truly makes me look good on my bad days which seem to happen frequently. Great shooter.

I would only do it if the original finish had wear scratch or any other flaw. just my opinion...

Do what you like. Variety is the spice of life. If you don't like it, I guess you will have to buy a new one.

I like your logic dirtengineer, but i don't need any enabling to buy another one of these beauties. As-is I am already looking at one of the case-hardened 1911c models.

No... VTACs have threaded barrels for a suppressor, VTAC night sights and the entire gun is Flat Dark Earth in color. I was just trying something different on my M&P slide. The color is burnt bronze.

I've been thinking about doing a NP3 finish or something on the Kimber 1911. It has some pitting from where a former owner let it rust. It has that external ejector though, so I may just get a new slide and call it good. Not to hurt your feelings or anything, while that does look nice, I like the all black better.

No offense taken TheTman. By the way, I see in your signature you have a Dan Wesson revolver. I used to have a 44V .44 mag wth 10" Burris scoped barrel and a 4" full under lug barrel. The 10" barrel would shoot 2 3/4" groups at 100 yards with hand loads. Wesson's have one of the best single action triggers I believe I've ever felt. Sure do miss it!
