Default Progress On Shooting Range Property

Since I bought the acre of land 3 months ago, I erected 120 feet of an 8 foot high privacy fence (80 feet to go)and finished the 13 foot driveway gate, excavated 60 tons of old concrete footers, added a gravel driveway (20 tons of gravel) leveled the ground with 50 tons of top soil and hydro-seeded. I cut down a small dead shag bark hickory tree for cooking fuel for the grill. All of this work was hampered by HUGE amounts of rain. 2 bobcats got stuck and tore up much of the lawn when digging out the old concrete and digging fence post holes. Soon I'll be able to start on remodeling the garage interior, adding a wood stove and window air conditioner (after adding windows). The 4x8 foot pistol range backstop is finished except for filling it with sand. The ground is much too soft to drive on it right now. I'm on schedule to get this whole thing done by the Fall. (fingers crossed).

Green with envy. Around here there are no-shooting areas... period. Where we can, there's a minimum 1000 foot buffer to any dwelling requirement. Pictures when you can.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

Been a life long want to have a place I can shoot out my back door anytime I want.
It's legal where I live and I do once in awhile but the area has built up to the point where if I shot more than a round or two my tree hugger neighbors would raise a fuss and then they'd make it illegal so I dont push it.

It was good till 10 years ago or so when a few more houses were added, now they are building a whole bunch more so pretty much over for me. Still test one now and then.

Lot of funny folks on my hill, got a new neighborhood website they chat on, my wife signed up on it, some of the stupid stuff they get concerned about drives me nuts. I post once in awhile which ticks the wife off since they think I'm her.

    Great fun.

I need to move over to Alfonses side of the mountain, find me a canyon to live in so the sound goes over other folks.

Even with huge property if the neighbors whine bad enough they make it hard.

I don't own any suppressed guns.
But If I inherited/bought a few acres somewhere?
My HK USP Tactical 45 would be whispering in my ear...

My neighbor shoots a shotgun pretty often and nobody much cares. There are also propane poppers in the orchards that are supposed to scare off the birds. They sound just like gunshots. It probably sounds like quite a bit of gunfire unless you are from someplace like Detroit or Chicago.

I guess what I am saying is you'd be very welcome in the neighborhood Bawanna.
