Default Is that body armor he's wearing?

I had a meeting the other day with a potential client, whose worship facility is building a school and their architect quit. I was told he was simply in over his head since he was moonlighting it. I don't fully believe that was the case, but it's not important.

So I had lunch with the client, and the two engineers I've known for years and trust who are also working on the project. The client, an older fellow, wore a white dress shirt, but looked like he was wearing body armor underneath. He also looked at me with those psycho eyes, where you see white under the iris. Other than that, he seemed "normal." The other oddity was his business card, which was from a local cardiovascular center where he is their CFO. His position for this school project is Chairman of the Board of Directors, so why not give me that business card?

I'm usually not one to turn down work, but unless there's a huge fee in this, I just don't have a warm fuzzy feeling.

Especially after yesterday's Muslim terror attack. Because the client is the local Islamic center.

Yup, I do need the money. Yup, Muslim money pays the rent as well as any other. I have no reason to think anything bad will happen because of my involvement, but still; why should I do this? I suppose Jesus would do it, but he'd still be an infidel to them.

That's the great thing about individual freedom. If you don't want to do it, don't do it. You don't have to justify it to me or anybody. That is...assuming we still enjoy our individual freedoms... Just sayin'.

IF we still have freedom. If it was a gay wedding chapel I'd probably be jailed for refusing, or sentenced to "therapy" like Dinesh D'Sousa.

I was in construction for a long time. If you got a hinky feeling walk away, actually back away, they sometimes have large knives.

I was appalled at the cake place that refused to make a cake for a pair of lebanese. Said it didn't click with their religion and didn't want to make the cake. Big to do over it. Lost the business.

When did they change it so a business couldn't refuse service to anyone.

Dad: Say something nice to your cousin Shirley
Dietrich: For a fat girl you sure don't sweat much.
    Cue sound of Head slap.

if you don't want to do business with them, don't give them any reason to sue you for discrimination or racism. You see that happening more and more, especially with the Muslims.

Profit from my mistakes, do not accept this client. Seriously.
Aside from religion, 2 big red flags waiving.
    1. You'd be taking on a mess which a colleague walked away from.
    2. Your gut tells you something's not right about the client.
Ignore either of these at your peril. When both exist together, RUN.
    Rest in peace Muggsy
