Many people simply cut the grip of a P9 to create their own "covert".
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

Sounds like a way to "covert" your gun into a useless piece of junk.

It's actually been done well by a few members. But, if you are honest, there really isn't a lot of real world difference between the ballistics of a PM vs. a P barrel (remembering that these are self defense firearms). So for me, I just recommend the smaller gun if you want the smaller grip.

How is that? Kahr has in the past produced factory covert models you know. One member even posted of his converting a large frame, TP or CT, into a short gripped, M sized pistol. It's easy to do and gives the owner what they want. Why would that be junk?

Cause if I did that, mine would be a useless piece of junk when I was through.

It worked wonderfully until Sig released the P365. When I bought my TP9, I lived in Cali and getting a carry permit wasn't easy and I only had money for one gun. So I bought the TP9 as a range/home gun with the intent to mod it for carry later. It would have been easier to buy a PM9 and a separate range/home gun. However, I don't regret the decision and now am looking at making my TP9 Covert into a P9 Covert, or a PM9 if a PM9 slide will fit the TP9 frame.
