Clinton has said repeatedly that the unusual homebrew server she used was secure.
But the phishing attempts highlight the risk of Clinton's unsecure email being pried open by foreign intelligence agencies, even if others also received the virus concealed as a speeding ticket from Chatham, New York. The email misspelled the name of the city, came from a supposed New York City government account and contained a "Ticket.zip" file that would have been a red flag.
Most commercial antivirus software at the time would have detected the software, identified it as dangerous and prevented users from infecting themselves. It was unclear if the State Department's network security would have flagged the infected message, or what precautions were in place protecting Clinton's server in the basement of her home in Chappaqua.
Meanwhile at least 400 more classified emails have been found.

In response to the State Department's document release today, Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, criticized Clinton's use of a private email server.
“With the number of emails deemed classified doubling to more than four hundred, this latest court-ordered release shows Hillary Clinton put our national security in more jeopardy than previously known,” Preibus said. “Hillary Clinton said at the outset of her email scandal there was no classified material on her secret server, and this release is another reminder she has mislead the American people from day one. Hillary Clinton’s reckless attempt to skirt transparency laws and her dishonest response to public inquiries underscore why she can’t be trusted in the White House.”
The guy that maintained her server didn't have a clearance, did he? How can she say it was secure when the guy running it wasn't cleared for the information being sent and received. And she just keeps blowing this off like it's no big deal. I hate bumper stickers, but I'm thinking about putting this on my truck.

The company that managed the server, Platte River Networks of Denver, Colorado looks like some fly-by-night operation.
