    Default corporate cable TV SUCKS!!!

Seems like corporate cable tv has gone big time anti gun and there’s not a thing you can do. I used to enjoy watching Impossible Shots, the gunny show, the nra curator's corner, Joe Montana Gun Stories and the list goes on. A few months ago verizon fios dropped first the sportsman channel then a month later outdoor channel was gone. Then looked at XFINITY cable they had both still available but now I look today the outdoor channel is gone from the line up and I’m sure sportsman channel will be next on the hit list. They can show the bloodiest movies or porn and that’s acceptable in the corporate world. But the shooting sports and hunting are still legal in this country and part of the history of the USA. So by taking all the shows that have anything to do with real time gun safety, hunting or sport they have become the mike bloomberg of what you and watch. I need no nanny, government or cable company to tell me what to watch. I’m pissed but nowhere to go with this. So are all the shows we enjoy GONE! Winter is on it's way and this is what I enjoyed to watch during the cold winter months and that is and was taken away from me and you. So is there a black market for gun shows now?

    It's all about the money....

If the shows where being watched...If the money was coming in...they would still be there for you.

This is corporate America, don't ya know...

There's plenty of sportsman-oriented programming on youtube. Cable programming for men isn't profitable. Most of us don't buy what we're told to buy on TV, we shop around and get what we want.

Call your cable company and tell them that you want to unsubscribe. When they ask why, tell them that it's because they dropped your favorite programs.

I just dropped At&T U-Verse for Comcast Infinity... er, I guess that I should say they dropped ME! Last Wednesday I decided to call AT&T and give them a chance to keep me... offered less for less... I needed more bandwidth to get what they had promised me and was really wanting to get Xfinity. The woman I talked to asked pointedly if I want to cancel that day and I said no, Monday... today is the last day of the billing period. I asked about the bill and she said just pay it and I would get my money back in about 4 weeks! I said why should I have to pay the bill and you keep my money for 4 weeks? She said fine, just wait for the final bill and pay that. I said great. We hung up and Wifey said the TV wasn't working. I checked the dial tone... gone. The Internet lasted a bit longer. Nice!

We had Xfinity two days later... love the X1 remotes. No landline and 3 connections... two X1 type and one HD for the bedroom... Wifey never watches recorded stuff. I have cable and HDMI cables running from my computer room to the dining room, so I hooked up the TV in the DR and can just take the remote in there for full capability, so we essentially have 4 TV's with HD.

We will have to learn the new channels, but the X1 remotes allow voice control and searching... fantastic. My AT&T bill had jumped from just over $200 to over $280 after the 2-year commitment. Our new bill is going to be $150 and change. We won't miss the landline, we have two cell phones and they are connected to our home cordless phone system by Bluetooth. We won't miss the wrong numbers , charity, and telemarketing calls!

I got the 75 Gbps speed and it tested over 85Gbps. We can record 6 and watch another HD stream at the same time. We could never get the 4 we were supposed to have with AT&T. 18Gbps with it was not enough bandwidth for what they promised. Plus we have all kinds of On-Demand capability.

I wanted to get rid of everything but Internet and use over the air and Roku, etc., but we are so used to just choosing a channel and I don't think Wifey would be happy trying to stream stuff.

The only thing I can't do is FAX and we never used that much anyhow. I know there are ways to do that online, but email with attachments usually work better, anyhow.

Oh, AT&T had only 720P resolution and Comcast has 1080P.

I've been wanting to share my experience. I still have a lot of work to do, changing all of my email and phone numbers with businesses and friends and family.

Harrylee, we got the next highest channel tier and HBO and Showtime, but the Outdoor, Military History and a few others were in the highest tier, but I was trying to cut SOME costs.

Oh, the X1 remotes are any room... RF-based, so taking the one from my PC area to the dining room gives us full capability in there, too.

I don't watch enough tv to justify satellite. My Blu-ray player has Hulu.com You-tube, and several other streaming channels built in. Hulu.com carries the few shows I do watch, and I can watch them anytime it's convenient. If you've not heard of if Hulu.com is a good place to find TV shows of all genres, and it has both new and older shows you can watch, plus some movies. Between Hulu and Netflix, I don't miss satellite much at all.
I just watched "The Wild Bunch" Saturday night on Netflix.
