    Default Bulgarian Makarov

I know I said I'd never own a gun less than 9mm/38 Special.
But I've got a Bulgarian Arsenal Circle (10) AK pistol (5.56 NATO) that I love.
So when some LNIB Bulgarian Arsenal Circle (10) Makarovs became available?
I folded like a cheap lawnchair - LOL!

Two mags and and graded as never issued?!?!?
    Just had to have one.
Not sure I'll ever carry it at all.
But it looks like loads of fun!

Not a bad little throw away gun. Slightly hotter than the .380 ACP.

Those used to be quite the rage around here 20 years ago or so. A lot of guys swore by them, many used them for a leave in the truck gun.
When I did my little on the job training at the gun shop, we sold a bunch of them.
There was one customer that knew them real well. He used his for a primary carry and had total faith in it.

I regret not getting myself one. At that time they were dirt cheap, don't know what they go for now days but I'm sure a lot more.

Still got my Russian Mak, that I picked up many years ago. Think it cost me $129.95 at Sportmart.
    Great, fun little guns.

A couple Colts, a couple Brownings, a Makarov, a Sig, a couple Rugers, a couple Kahrs, a couple Smith & Wessons, a Walther, and a couple Berettas .....Oh, and some long guns...

Good, solid, reliable pistols. Better in every way to the other popular commie sidearm, the CZ82, IMHO. My choice was a East German, probably because it was the first one I bumped into. Nice guns, lots of fun. Lots of grip choices available for alternative looks. Enjoy.

    Thanks guys.
I'm kind of liking the Bakelite grips.
It's likely sacrilege - but I ordered some Big Dot NS, Wolff recoil spring and some modern U.S ammo.
Obviously I've only ordered, and not received, the gun.

You will like it. I had a Russian one in .380 and enjoyed it a lot. It was very accurate, but I sold it to get something smaller and easier to conceal.

I picked up one about 10 years ago for $100. I refinished it and changed out all the springs. It has been 100% reliable. I have carried it as my summer gun for many years. The 9x18 round is quite interesting. I believe it has the power to be a good self defense round while gentle enough to fire without ear protection and without excessive muzzle flash. I keep it loaded with Hornady hollow points.

Don't know about the "ear protection" part. Hearing quality doesn't come back once lost, and shooting any caliber without protection will take it's toll.
