Thread: PM9 Worn Rails

  1. #1

    Default PM9 Worn Rails

PM9 has some wear on the Plastic Frame Slides I was Told this was Normal, I noticed it when I took apart and you could see the wear on the two little slides, it looks like it is wearing down a little, I have been told that this is Not a Range Gun But, Will these Rails wear down and the Gun becomes Useless. Do Not know how to put photos on this site. I was again told that this will Not effect the Gun as a CCW.

Why would Kahr NOT put Rails on the Gun that Do Not Wear like these, Just Makes me Unsure of a CCW Gun?

Forgot this Gun was Purchased Used, but, looks like New

Kahrs don't have plastic rails. The plastic rails that wear a little are only there to guide reassembly. The metal rails front and rear are what the slide rides on. No worries. There are guys on here with over 30k rounds with no issues.

Your information is correct. It should be nothing to worry about. Your Kahr slide rides on metal rails inside the frame not the plastic. So wear to the plastic is normal and will not impair function or accuracy. It helps if you are careful removing or installing the slide. That can keep the plastic from getting extra chewed up.

    Thanks

I took a nail file (shh, don't tell the wife) to it and smoothed it out.

True professionals use the wife's emery board. Shhhh, don't tell anybody.
