    Default Copper coated lead

Awaiting the arrival of my new TP45. Have reloaded .45acp for many years and used lead for most of that time. I have read at several locations on the web that lead can not be used in the P barrels. OK with that, but what about Copper coated such as Ranier?
    Thanks for the help.

Or use copper jacketed lead bullets, that's what most cartridges sold use anyway. Perfectly fine to use in polygonal barreled firearms. That's what I would use. The copper jacket reduces lead build up considerably in the barrel of any firearm, with any type of rifling. About the only non clad lead bullet cartridges I see in hand gun calibers any more are .22 or .38 special.

Copper coated and copper jacketed are 2 different animals. Just trying to learn if I can shoot plated/coated without messing up my gun.

You can shoot copper plated bullet with no problems. The copper plating prevents leading just as well as the copper jacketed bullets. Load the plated bullets to hard cast lead specs.

I'm with you, you cant believe anything people say on the internet. Listen to one guy who sounds like he knows his stuff and you blow up your gun. Read it for yourself, cut out the middleman, quit worrying about the unknowns....
