    Default Go Iowa

I had no idea that there was any state that didn't allow a parent to take their kids shooting.
Apparently in Iowa they have to be 14 or older before they can shoot.

All mine were making loud noises at around 5.

Alabama had a wierd law like that but it wasn't enforced. It was changed when they passed recently a law that allowed more carry options than we had before. It was a step in the right direction.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I was shooting a cut down single shot bolt action .22 rifle at the age of 5.

    Well according to the article...

"Rep. Art Staed (D), who said he's a hunter who supports the Second Amendment, said the legislation is a public health threat and not gun rights issue.

"I would not allow my children to have access to guns," Staed said. "

Guess we can all thank GOD that rep Staed does not allow his kids to" have access to GUNS"!
Funny thing is, I didn't let mine have (unsupervised) access to guns, but I did teach them to shoot them, under my direct supervision.

Shockingly... we all survived their childhood.

Stupid, hysterical words from a "hunter" Democrat. Seems that Iowa making it law that anyone under 14 shooting a handgun (even/especially under the supervision of their parent) a felony as being stupid and waaaay over reaching.

Is it just me or have others noticed, when any gun related issue is in the press and the name of the politician being quoted is shown and that name is followed by the sign "(D)" what follows is going to be best described as... dumba$$??
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
    "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
    "more stuff than you are"

Shot my first handgun 62 years ago at age 9 under the supervision of a US Army Sergeant who was the RO at Fort Buchanan in Puerto Rico.
