Not radical at all. Just don't have to go around tryin' to make everyone else beholdin' to your beliefs. Key word there is beholdin. Why, folks like Cruz don't mind what you yourself believe, no Sir. But they do insist that you behave in a way that is according their beliefs. And therein is the dilemma.
Just out of curiosity, what do you believe in CJB? Since when did expressing their belief in God become a negative? Since when did someone expressing their belief in God become shoving religion down your throat. Did Cruz's father put a gun to your head?
Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

I am a follower of Jesus Christ. Expressing belief is not a negative. If you read my posts, rather than react to them, its Cruz's Christian Dominionism and Christian Domination, that is my beef with him. Again, according to Cruz's beliefs, and those of his father, you're free to believe what you like, so long as you let their belief be the dominating belief of all facets of society.
For instance, up until not too very long ago, in many states and locales, it was illegal to sign a check, or a contract, or a credit card receipt, on Sunday. Why? The signing of the name was considered to be swearing, as in swearing an oath, or swearing to tell the truth... or in this case swearing that you'd be financially responsible for the debt. The Christian Dominionist got that into law, long ago. No swearing on Sunday, don't ya know?
For instance, in the county where I live, and in most of the counties locally, one cannot buy drinkable alcohol, past midnight on Saturday, except for the consumption within a bar or restaurant. You cannot buy alcohol, in fact, until noon, or some cases 2pm on Sunday. Why? Christian Dominionists at it again. Wanna make a day of fishin' out in the ocean Sunday? Better have the beer from before midnight, ITS THE LAW!
That is the infusion of belief into the legal system, imposing a moral code upon all of society. The so-called Blue Laws are still in effect, and enforced... strictly for religious reasons. And the Blue Laws are only part of the total issue.
I don't need somebody who agrees with that sort of thing in the White House. And Cruz, is dad, and his congregation all believe in that, and more.
Not at all. Jesus Christ himself said, render unto Ceaser what is Ceaser's, and unto God that which is God's.
Ok, here goes... maybe you shouldn't be able to buy a six pack of beer at 6am Sunday, as you get your ice and bait.... UNLESS.... you can prove you're a Jew. Hows that? Is that fair?
What seems contradictory, is the same folks prohibiting alcohol on Sunday, pass around a cup of wine during their services! Ours is... in fact... alcoholic wine, not grape juice. And while its not a passed cup anymore, the little paper dixie-cup has wine in it. Go figure!
And the same folks who say its not right to swear an oath on Sunday.... they'll take your donation check in Sunday services, as long as it was dated Saturday, or Monday!
Hey, I TRIED to show the cute little gal behind the counter at Kangaroo (like 7-Eleven) that I REALLY was Jewish... I think maybe I shouldn't have tried to ask her to see if it tasted Kosher!
