Congratulations to you and your wife.
I downloaded all of my CDs to an I Pod. I just plug it in and let it play in random order. You never know what tune is next and you listen to songs you always forget to put on. Best part is that instead I'd a cubic foot of CDs I have a slim little I Pod in th console out of the way.
Another advantage to being deaf. I wouldn't even know my van has a radio unless on road trips where the wife plays CD's or she has one of them little Ipod things. She can play whatever she wants and it don't make no difference to me.
Almost always George Straight or Reba to me no matter what she plays.
Didn't know I had a CD player till she shoved one in the front.

Back I am...and done with road long haul tripping for the season. Next one up is Maine again come late May next year. Road trip GT gonna need new shoes afore then.
I'm a book lover and I know a lot of folk like audio books but I've never found that format attractive. I'm a "driver". Driving takes first priority attention, and I'd miss stuff in books. NPR and a couple other XM talk channels, plus classical CDs do me just fine.

We do many road trips….just for fun! 80% of the time there is a very vague destination. We kind of decide (for the most part) our destination as we go.
That may be good strategy if hilabeast wins.
