I always watch the police to see if they have a handle on the situation as I pass them on the streets or roads. I wouldn't hesitate to stop and assist them as this guy did:

agreed. I would step up too if I saw a uniformed officer getting a beating--even in Kalifornia
I am the Living Man
Thank goodness an armed citizen was there to help this deputy. Even if you're a cop, when seconds count, the cops are just minutes away. I sure hope this guy doesn't have to suffer any legal defense costs for his actions. He already has to live with the fact he took someone's life (even though he likely saved one).
Tight groups,

Another one for the good guy...............................................
I always look when I pass a traffic stop to see if things are looking ok. I would stop to help if it looked bad for the officer.
I always look as well, often times its my own guys. I sometimes even pull over behind and kind of monitor things.
It's a scary world.

Can you imagine circling around the LE officer and the fool, and trying to get a clear shot without hitting the officer!!!!!!!
Excellent. Good work citizen!
Wake Up...Grow Up...Show Up...Sit Up...Shut Up...Listen Up
Thank God a gun guy/gal had the LEO's back. That's a real American!
We often talk about thanking a Vet on this forum and I more than agree. BUT, we also need to thank LEO's and tell them we support them, appreciate them, and
respect them.
In recent years POTUS has given Vet's "lip service" respect, but he has turned his back on LEO's. What a crime!
Actually, yes, I can imagine that... and getting close enough to not miss, yet far enough not to get sprayed with brain goo.
From the two point blank in the head suicides at the range, one of which I was first hand witness to, brain goo goes about three or four feet or so.
