Also I really hate to send out my slide but think that its best to have a professional fit them. By no means am I a novice with using tools but not sure on how complex it is to install.
I bought the BigDot sights for my new PM9 directly from XS and installed them myself. It was very easy, not complex at all. You need a very sturdy bench vise to hold the slide, a brass punch of the right size and most importantly Kano Kroil to loosen up the tight factory installed sights.

You might look at my recent post - which has pics of my new TruGlo TFX sights on my K9.

    Bright both day and night.

    Good luck!

Decided to go with the XS Big Dots. Best price I was able to find was at an outfit called Universal Mania for $72.82 which includes the shipping. Heck shipping should not cost more than 75 cents in a padded envelope.
Watched the install video on the XS site. All along i was figuring that the angle shoulders of the sight pad needed to be filed to fit the width of the dovetail. Never dawned on me that the bottom of the sight pad is what will need to be thinned out to fit the dovetail.

I was able to quickly punch out the existing sights using a brass punch. Now the wait for the new sights.

That sounds like a great price.

Have to chime in here on the shipping comment though. Shipping a 2 oz package in a padded envelope USPS first class costs $2.61. If you want that insured for loss, that is another couple of bucks. Labor, the label, the padded envelope come to nearly another buck. FYI.

Just wanted to say thanks for the assistance. I bought and installed the XS Big Dots on the Kahr K40. Need to do some target practice this weekend.
I added a few photos that compare the old and new.

I think that you made a wise choice. Dot the eye just like the old sights, but put the front sight right on the bullseye. Let us know how it goes.............................

That's pretty cool...looks like Meprolight has taken the TAS sight and added tritium. As both companies are based in Israel, I wonder if it's a collaborative effort?
Thanks for sharing the link Alfonse

They had another cool thing at SHOT too, which I can't seem to find a link on (so maybe it is really new). It was a pistol sight combination that used the rear sight dovetail to hold a custom mount for their reflex sight with a quick release for the reflex sight. Once the reflex sight was removed, you had a set of low profile, tritium three-dot iron sights. It was better than my description in that it was quick and easy to get the reflex sight off, and there was a nice set of night sights underneath. The reflex mount part was narrower than most so it really wasn't in the way at all with the reflex sight removed. It was pretty slick actually.

The ones at the show were mounted on blue plastic Glock replicas.
