Default Baby DE III Front and rear sight heights

Information provided by Magnum Research. They said this was all they have from BUL.

From looks of it, a 1911 type rear sight Novak style should fit as long as it's a 65deg angle, it'll just need to be filed down to the .466 width as many are sold as .495 width.

Anyway, hope this helps. I found a Springfield adjustable rear sight that should fit, just ordered and will report back. From looks of it there's no real room to add a lower front sight but probably easy to add a higher front sight if you need to lower POI.

***** I can't post attachments for some reason, maybe I'm too new to this forum. DM me for the attachmemts.

Thank you for the info I look forward to reading how that Springfield sight works out for you.

The forum requires a new member to have made 30 posts before certain features are available to them. Photos can still be posted if they are hosted off site. If you would like, send the stuff you wanted to attach to me and I'll post it for you (will PM you my email address in a few).

I successfully added the Springfield rear sight, took a relatively easy amount of filing with a triangle file. Sighting in tomrrow at range, will advise. And when I hit 30 posts I'll post pics!

Update on rear sight: the Springfield Armory Adjustable Rear Sight 1911 fit fine with a little filing. Took to range and shoots too high, about 5" high at 15 yds. Issue is although it's adjustable, the rear sight is a tad too long so it touches the frame and can't be lowered any further.
Good news is found that the typical Novak cut sights (65deg angle) can fit the BDE III. Bad news is that it can't be as long as this rear sight.
I ordered 3 different rear sights from Brownells. Will update next week.
