I went to check it out, here's a link. http://www.mossberg.com/category/series/590-shockwave/

As I suspected it's a 14'' barrel. Might be right handy. I'd love to play with one to see if Alfonse has hit on something.
I agree I didn't like the pistol grip but maybe this is the ticket for a short handle and being shorter overall, maybe it would be manageable with one hand moving around. Not shooting but freeing up the weak hand for other stuff.
In Memory of Paul "Dietrich" Stines.
Dad: Say something nice to your cousin Shirley
Dietrich: For a fat girl you sure don't sweat much.
    Cue sound of Head slap.

    RIP Muggsy & TMan

Well I wasn't a fan but the 14 inch barrel got my attention.

And it still holds 6 3'' rounds. That's pretty cool. It would hold a pile of them shorty rounds mentioned earlier.

    Cool Taking out the Trash

    Grew up watching The Rifleman.
Sawed off the stalk of my Ruger 10/22 and shot from the hip.
    Later got a Mossberg 500.
Tossed the stock and kept the pistol grip.
Although painful to shoot, I could hip shoot a mannequin at close range with slugs effortlessly.
Reviews I've read the birds head grip is pleasant to shoot even with heavy loads.
Ordered just the grip for my 500.
But I'm thinking this would make a fine home defense weapon loaded with buckshot.
Thought about having the barrel sawed off - but then it's a SBS
The Shockwave is like a modern Ithaca 37 Witness gun without the legal issues.
14" heavy barrel and just over 26" overall.
Decided to go all in and just get the newer heavy duty 590.
Ordered the 590A1 military metal trigger group and safety as well...
It's a niche gun for sure.
But I'm thinking I'd rather repel borders with a 12 guage than a pistol.
This thing looks like the ultimate apartment cleaner

Don't forget about the Mossy 464 SPX!!! Who doesn't need a tactical .30-30?

    41026-catalog.jpg

I wonder if Mossberg will sell the two of them in a matched set?

I have to agree on that. There's a crime here somewhere. John Wayne is doing spins in his grave on this one.

Wonder if I could get that to work for my Thompson? Standing up is the tricky part.
