Default Ok...i need some info about the mag release lock on a MK 40

Well i just purchased a LNIB Kahr Mk40 elite 03 and with anything i buy i like to add some custom touches like we all do....i have a set of Crimson Trace grips for it along with black hex head screws and have picked up a like new Galco Ankle Glove holster as well...i am told the guide rod upgrade to stainless is a must as well....but one thing i can not find is a replacement mag release lock with the hex head....i have a 1911 officers acp i just told that i had that hex head in it...does anyone know if such a part is made or has anyone ever had one of the mag releases out and any pics of it?
They gun will hopefully be here later next week ....any help will so be appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    God Bless,John

I've never heard of such a thing myself. The mag release is very much like a 1911. Very similar.

Might possibly even interchange but I can't say that for sure.

Well that is what i thought when i first seen it
I wonder if i could make a lock from a 1911 work....it just needs to have the hex head

    Worth a shot - it's cheap enough...
Good luck, and let us know if you find something.

1911 mag catch locks will work with the Kahr magazine catch.
Here is the Kahr lock (top) with a couple of 1911 locks. There are some slight differences between the three, but as far as I can tell, none have an effect on performance

Here's the the stock lock in my MK9:

    With a 1911 lock:

I did happen to have a hex key 1911 lock. Here it is with the Kahr lock:

    Installed:

FWIW, the Kahr lock works fine in a 1911 catch:

I've never heard of a hex key mag release lock. Guess I'll have to pick one up and 5 or 6 more if I like it.
