Have any of you used Grip screws that are not the normal Kahr screws? If so, where did you buy them and can you post a picture of them on the gun?

1911 grips screws work. I had some of "regular' length on hand and found I needed to trim them down a bit for use with the nylon grips. Folks report that the 'thin grip" 1911 screws work just fine "as is" for this application.
I don't know firsthand if the above applies to the wood grips (without doing any modifications), but I think it worth looking into.
Here's my MK9 with 1911 screws installed:

Regular length 1911 grip screws work fine IF you use 0-rings on them.
You need to do this anyway to keep the head of the screw near the surface of the grip.
If you don't use o-rings, the screw heads seat too far into the grips, and it looks funny.
The screws also protrude into the magwell, and a mag won't go past them.
FWIW, Home Depot sells a small o-ring assortment in the plumbing section that works well for this....
I'll post pics of the new screws installed in my MK tomorrow when I get home. I got them on Amazon pretty cheap, compared to the custom engraved ones I really wanted. Those were over $50 per set...
I use the factory screws or short 1911 screws. I slim the wood down so the wood is flush to the screw head.
Makes a slimmer grip closer in width to the rubber or nylon grips.
I prefer slim on my 1911's too.

I was actually eyeing those exact ones last night.
What at do you guys think? I got new grips and a new holster for Fathers Day.
I prefer simpler grip screws, but the rest looks great.............looks like a nice holster.
Both look great to me. Never seen screws like that before. Nice.
