    Default Phantom

I've been wanting one of these for quite some time, but they've been scarce:

Then a couple of days ago, one appears on the shelf at a local shop. I barely glanced at the price tag before the plastic was out....faster than Trinity I think

I'm pretty pleased with it so far....even if a little trigger work took several hours (and that was with an excellent tutorial)

Sweet! Congratulations on that find - seeing a CZ of any kind is a rarity around here.

Just hope you didn't slap the salesman....

    Thanks
No slapping, but I sure had some good times at the drive-ins watching those Trinity movies in the early 70's. As to that shop, I'm on pretty good terms with most of the folks there. Several of us get to together quite often for desert trips and I served with some of them in the Marine Corps.

Good grief, load it on Sunday and shoot it all week long. That's a lot of payload.

Like the looks of it and it doesn't so anything to appease my desire to have a CZ to call my very own.

One more model to confuse my limited memory banks too.

Very nice. I knew what the post was about when I saw Phantom. That takes standard CZ 75 mags doesn't it? I like the dec0cker better on that than the P-07 and P-09.

You still got your P-09? I shot mine yesterday and was wondering how yours was working out. I'm up to about 1200 rounds on my P-09 and not one trouble yet. The P-07 is at about 1400 rounds. Had to do a tad of extractor work on it as it was sticking and causing fail to return to battery unless it was well oiled. Rough machining in the extractor slot on the slide that caused slight issues at around 800 rounds. Now it is slick as ice.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I just saw that Bud's has a few surplus 75 and 75B pistols that need some TLC...prices are not bad, would be a cool project to clean one of them up.

Thanks! It does take standard 75 mags.

I do still have the P-09. I've warmed up to it which I find odd because the P07 I had just didn't sing to me. I bought the P09 because I was tired of waiting on a Phantom and I briefly thought about trading it on this Phantom, but it was only a fleeting thought. It has been a solid performer for me through about 500 rounds. I've slicked it's trigger up and want to either buy a trigger from Cajun Gun Works that has an over travel stop or just drill and tap my trigger for one. Keeping it may prove to be a wise decision, as my wife shot the Phantom (darn, I like that name) really well and has taken an interest in it which could lead to it residing in her safe. If that happens, I'm going to pimp out the P09 with a compensator from Springer Precision and see how I like that...or maybe buy another Phantom as I got an email from Davidson's this evening that says they have them in stock (checked Gun Genie and it had 99 listed on hand).

Nice work diagnosing and fixing that balky extractor.

    Regards,
    Greg

    Here's a shot with a 16 rounder:

That's a beauty. I love CZs, but don't have one of those in my collection. Count me as happy for you and envious!
