Default Can a CT 9 barrel be used with a CT 40 ?

Can A CT 9mm barrel be used with a CT 40 gun or is there a conversion barre available? I like the 40 but it is hard on my old hands.

Not sure about just the barrel but I believe Greg put a .40 slide (whole upper) on a 9mm frame and it worked ok. A whole slide might be an option if one could be found cheap.

Maybe someone with both guns will chime in shortly.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Thanks for the reply I will look for a Kahr 9mm top Assembly. I know that it works for Glock and I have put a 40/10 on a Springfield 45 frame. I have some 165 gr 40 bullets on the way to load light. But would like a 9mm top for this gun.

The way I'd research it if I were you is to find someone that has a 9mm CT and have them measure both the barrel OD and the hole in the slide, then compare that to yours. If they're the same, I'd give a 9mm barrel a try in yours. I know that with Glocks, the factory barrels don't swap between 9 and 40; the 40 has a bigger OD and a bigger hole in the slide. Lone Wolf conversion 9mm barrels for .40 Glocks have a larger OD to match the .40 hole.

May have to change the extractor too, smaller case head diameter and all that........

I'm certainly no expert and haven't measured anything but I suspect the striker centerline is different, and the extractor and ejector are different between the 9s and the 40s.

And the mags would be different. Most likely the grip frame too.

I passed that pistol on to a buddy and the last time I talked to him he was running the 40 top end on it.
