    Default Trouble replacing extractor

    Hi All!

I have a 1927 A1. I'm trying to figure out how to replace the extractor. I can't figure out how to get it into the slot in the bolt. It seems like it's too tight to fit. It goes about 1/8-1/4" into the slot but won't go further. Does it need to be tapped? Also, does the end need to be lifted a little to get over the end of the bolt?
I haven't been able to find any instructions on how to replace it.

    Thanks.

This isn't terribly helpful but it does say not to lift it any more than necessary to clear the bolt face. I'll try to find something better.

I don't know that I ever had mine out so I don't have a good answer. I'll keep looking.

This is much better and explains the little pin that is probably messing you up. You do have to lift the extractor slightly as you push it in to clear the little pin, then as you push it in you can feel or hear it snap into place.

Give that a whirl and see if we get a happy ending.

That was the issue. I had to lift it that little bit.

    Thank you so much @bawanna!
