Default What year or serial number from carbon to stainless

    Hey guys.

I bought a used kahr k9 with 500 through it. I hear alot of talk about carbon steel vs stainless. Here is a pic of mine and the serial number is AR270# (last number omitted) and here is a pic of mine which seems to have the later frame tge the earlier ones with out the beefed up slide stop pin area on the frame.
Anyone tell me if mine is carbon or s/s and if mine is the later shape. Am i missing any upgrades?
Not sure if mine woukd be the newer or older sight slotes?
I have been over to tge serial number post which puts mine just after May 1999 i think...

The switch to stainless was pretty early on, ('95/96), as was the frame machining. Yours is almost certainly stainless. If a 1998 model then it takes the old style sights.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.
