Just an FYI - the new style serial # ID tag appears to be being used on other polymer frame Kahrs.

I've seen them on new production CW 9 and also CM 9s. The wave of the future, I guess....

They don't bother me much, as I put Talon grips on all my polymer frame Kahrs. Outta sight, outta mind.

Thanks for that info Ed. Did you notice if they also had the mag latch that "S" series uses?
I don't like the new serial number plate's size or location. I won't be buying any models with it.

Looks like the "old" style mag latch.

I took this picture through the glass on a showcase, so it's not that good of quality.

It just now occurred to me that I should have used my bar code scanner on my phone to see what info it provides.

I'll stop by Thursday afternoon and do that.

The CM9 they had still used the old under dust cover serial plate, but there's a picture on Facebook of someone's new CM9 that has the ugly grip plate.

Stopped at the gun shop today to try the QR scanner on my phone on the new serial number plate.

    Didn't read the QR code.

Still curious about it, I called Kahr to see what info was in the code. It's just the serial number, and it is used by them for inventory control purposes. Quicker than reading the serial number....

I would much prefer that they put it under the end of the barrel, on the frame. I don't like anything on the grips themselves. I wouldn't own one.

I put Talon grips on my polymer Kahrs anyway, so that wouldn't be a concern....
