I didn’t think it was worth the extra money. I thought night sights were.

Ok, I purchased a new standard MK9 off of GOG this weekend. I should be able to pick it up this Friday. I am pretty stoked as I have wanted this gun for a very long time. I hope it will be the one that turns in to my new carry piece.
when I receive it, is there any special conditioning I should do other than clean and lube before going to the range to start my 200 round break-in?
I didn’t do anything. I just shot it.
It is a very good pistol. Expect to go through about 200 rounds to break it in although mine was flawless from the get go.

With the MK I seriously doubt you'll have any issues. I'd shoot the 200 just because I always do but it most likely won't require it.
Clean and lube mostly so you get familiar with it and have an excuse to play with it before you shoot it but just shoot it.
You'll be fine.

Took ok my new MK9 to the range this weekend. I put 200 fmj practice rounds down range, followed by 12 defensive rounds. The gun was flawless. I was amazed at how accurate it was and how well it handled. Guess what? I have my new carry piece and it carries very nicely on my side. No issue with the weight. I can honestly say I love this little gun. If I noticed anything, it was that the standard grips are a little slippery. I wish they made hogue grips for this gun. Are there any good options for grips available?
Thanks for the range report
As far as grip options go, here are a few:
Lakeline LLC's G-10 grips (https://lakelinellc.com/shop/mk-series-g10-grips/)
Kahr offers checkered wood grips (http://www.kahr.com/Grips/Kahr-Wood-...ries-M143P.asp)
As posted by 44 Deerslayer
Some members have stippled their grips, such as these posted by Genin:
Transporter went with Lakeline's grips and a stippled front strap:

GOOFA's MK9 wears the checkered wood grips from Kahr along with some grip or skateboard tape on the front strap:
dannyeller had his MK40'e front strap checkered: http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.p...m-Robar-W-Pics
Rangemeister used a piece of the fake checkering that Wilson sells: http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?19437-Front-strap-checkering&p=257045#post257045
There's also Hogue's Handall Jr.: This one is available from https://www.midwayusa.com/product/11...-sleeve-rubber, but Kahr offers them as well
Kahr used to have rubber grips on the MK guns; you might be able to find some on the used market. Likewise the discontinued Crimson Trace lasergrip that was over molded rubber.
I've probably missed some options, but it's a start.

Thanks for all the grip options, I will give this some thought.
I put the wood grips from Kahr on my MK9, they're really nice looking and fit my hand perfectly!
