Default safety on while inserting magazine

    I have a 1927 A1 T1B14 that I just acquired.

The manual says that the safety must be on to insert the magazine.
Also the safety must be off to pull back the bolt.
While watching online videos I don't see or hear anything about doing this.

Can someone tell me what common practice is?
Is it safe to insert the magazine and then pull the bolt back?

I do. Never heard about that. Might be one of them cover your backside safety instructions. I think the only time I even put the safety on was to make sure it worked when I got it.

I don't shoot mine often, just don't get out enough but I hold it a lot. Beats lifting weights.
