Speaking of Toxic Masculinity, I spent the weekend on the wood pile. This is a pile that's been there for 3 or 4 years. Stuff that's impossible to split, some of it 3ft across, I'll never take logs that big again. Just a mess. Decided I was gonna clean it up.
Well so's I wasn't nekkid I of course had my PM45 in an ankle rig. Figured under the pant leg it would be semi protected. Actually did some weeks ago as well. Today I finished it off, it was like first steps on the moon, all cut up.
Always a challenge to clean myself up, with all the chainsaw dust etc, all over the chair.
Got all cleaned up and decided I better take a look at the trusty PM45. Good thing I did. It had a lot of wood debri, dust, chips etc. The barrel was even dusty inside, got of rough racking the slide. Just gave her a good clean and lube and we're ready to take on the world again.
As for the toxic part, was invited down the street to a St Patty's day dinner. After a couple Crown Royals they pulled out some of this licorice smelling stuff that turned out to be pretty good. Couldn't feel my lips for awhile but I was happy that I suffered no ill effects this morning.
I really wanted to put the finish on that wood pile.

Speaking of doing yard-type work while armed...
In my parent's neighborhood someone reported in great detail about some young urban opportunists trying to size up someone doing yard work. Two of them in a car, one talking, the other with his head down and hands out of sight. The potential victim walked off before anything could transpire, but it does demonstrate that being armed while doing yard work is not a silly precaution.
