    Default Grip sleeves

I originally had Talon grips on my HK. Didn't really care for them on that firearm. I prefer the rubber type grip sleeves on my firearms if they stay put. I tried the rubber type on my M&P and they liked to move around too much. Talon's work great on my M&P. I like a Pachmayr sleeve on my MK. It stays put for the most part. So, I put a Limbsaver on my HK, and so far, it's working well. It stays put. Some of the sleeves work well and some don't. The design of the firearm grip itself has a lot to do with it. I know that some people hate them, but it's a way for me to bulk up grips slightly, but they really cushion the recoil. Grips for me are usually too large, or too small.

The Hogue beavertail sleeve made my Shield easier to grasp. I may try one on my PM9.

I bought a grip sleeve once. Don't remember what gun it was for or even what problem I thought I had I was trying to solve. Whatever.....that was the first and last one. I do have small hands, though, so too small grips are rarely an issue.

I use sleeves on several guns. Like you said; "some work well, some don't". The Kahr TP9 and P9s are ones that works well. Others are the HK USP line, the Ruger PMR-30. I tried one on a Beretta Pico but it didn't stay put. The finger bumps help me maintain a better grip and recoil is softened a bit. They help customize the grip to your hand in some cases.

Try a bit of hairspray on the gun grip before mounting the grip sleeve. Water cleanup if it doesn't work for you.

I only have a grip sleeve on one gun, a Glock 22. It's just OK, but it does move around a bit when shooting it a lot. I have not shot that gun in a while, maybe it's time I take it out to ring some steel and give it a try with and without the sleeve. Hmmm, a reason to shoot more? Ok, I'm in.

I cut some bicycle tire inner tube - soaked it in hot water - slid it on to the CW45 and works well.

I use 1.75" bike tube grips on most of my Kahrs and Glocks... mainly to soften the grip's harsh nibs on the .40's and .45's. The bike tube is similar to the nice rubber grips that were on my first Kahr, a K9. The Kahr .45's are rough on my hands! :-)

I bought a P380 from Wynn and it came with a bike tube sleeve. Used them ever since.
