Thread: PM45 - Kimber 6 Round 1911 Magazine?

    Default PM45 - Kimber 6 Round 1911 Magazine?

Hi, found a post here mentioning the Kimber Kimpro TacMag 7 round will sit flush, yet just ordered and have a brand new one in box with 3 different base plates and it hangs out. Tested unfired and Mag fits, feeds and holds open after last round perfect with no mods.

Perhaps CT45 is longer than PM45 and what they were referring to...

Is there a flush fitting 1911 6 round magazine? UPC number?

Will the "Compact 1911 6 Round" work with no mods?

    #onemoreroundcounts

    Thanks much,
    PBJ

To my knowledge, the only 1911ish magazines that will fit anywhere near flush in a CM/PM 45 are those meant for use in a Detonics Combat Master.
Even those stick out a bit when used in a CM/PM 45:

Compact/Officer's size 1911 magazines are a much better fit in the longer frame CW/P45 models from Kahr:

    As all-ways, thanks kindly Greg.

Still on the hunt for a flush 6 rounder, even if I do have to make some mods.

MagGuts would be perfect if they offered the PM45 5 to 6 round conversion.

For those looking.... MagGuts has a Suggest a Product form here https://www.magguts.com/pages/contact-us#zbwid-7bd1caec

If you are handy, there have been some folks that have cut down and welded 1911 mags so that they sit flush in CM/PM45 frames:

Log Man does something similar for Springfield Armory's EMP. Here's a post he made about the process (with photos):

    Thanks again Greg,

Will look into it further and have to say Log sure does some beautiful welding and finish work!
