Default My CM9 is difficult to field strip

When I say it's difficult, I don't mean it's difficult to remove the slide stop. That's just like my other Kahrs---line up the disassembly notches and push out the pin.

No, things go downhill after that. When I get to that stage with my other Kahrs, I just pull the trigger and the slide pushes off. With my CM9, that doesn't always happen. Sometimes it does, but sometimes I have to reassemble and try again.

    I don't understand.

I occasionally have trouble with mine but a bit of wiggling and moving the slide back and forth always fixes it. I don’t know what the issue is.

muggsy: Let's face it, being shot by a .380 will ruin anyone's day.

Here's the official Kahr video on youtube. Note the technique for holding the slide aligned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2cZgVg_SwA

Do you have a California model? Of course you don't, the CM9's are not approved for sale here! Nevermind!

The reason I asked is the P380 model is different and comes with a plastic magazine you need to use when you break it down....

Is your slide stop spring bent or misaligned? When you reassemble, you start with the slide stop at ~4 o'clock and rotate it to 3 o'clock, right?

Yes, that's exactly it. It's always functioned fine----never a misfire or FTF in the 400 rounds I have through it. Disassembly is just not as easy as on my other Kahrs.

Hi Mike - My CM9 does this as well.

    This works for mine:

When you get the slide stop out, the slide creeps forward a little. Pull the slide back to where it is even with the back of the frame - just like when it's assembled, and then squeeze the trigger. The slide should come off easily then.
