My guess is that it is a suitable substitute. The difference in appearance could be the result of a design change to standardize, improve, cut cost, etc.
Also, it's not unusual to see variations in magazines as firearms manufacturers stop making magazines in house and use companies like Mec-Gar to supply the magazines.

Agreed. The angle appears the same, very similar in all respects other than the base plate. Main thing is does it work?

After doing some research this is what I have found so far, hope they did not send me the wrong mag.This says it is for the Jerico 941 only.I have not made it to shoot yet as I am dealing with my elderly MIL.
I do like the thinner base plate.
