Does all this REAL ID talk mean I can no longer use my FAKE ID?

Oh, you beat me to it. I remember those good ole days...
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I had to renew Texas DL this year (wife too) and they requiered all the "new" documentation. I guess we now have "real ID's", but I didn't know I did that until just now...

Thanks folks, for filling in the blanks... I guess. I might fly again someday, so I guess that's okay.

My CHL will let me buy any of the firearms I wish to buy.
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
    "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
    "more stuff than you are"

You need the new "Real ID" to enter Federal buildings. I have never been in one, so don't know how common the need is.

If I'm charged with a federal crime, but don't have read ID, does that mean I can't enter the federal penal system? Hmmm.....

They'll give you a special one in that case... it includes your fingerprints, DNA and bodily markings or scars along with your name, photo, etc. One you don't want. Very expensive.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

I live just north of L.A. and just renewed my driver license. I opted for the “real ID”, and had to bring my passport (a certified birth certificate would have worked as well), my social security card, and a utility bill showing my address (I used my cell phone bill). As I am over 70, I also had to pass both a vision test and a knowledge test. From what I saw, most of the people who tripped up lacked a social security card.
