    Default Kahr Mags

I got a NeoMag and it’s great, but I forgot the Kahr tends to “tilt” the first round in the mag for feeding. So it tends to drop rounds into my pocket (most I found after an afternoon was 3). I found this sort of strange considering I bought it from Kahr directly. Considering using a small piece of invisible tape over the top. My theory is it’s strong enough to hold the round in, but will probably rip upon mag swap (either taking it out or chambering the first round). It’s not ideal but should work. Anyone else having a problem with their neomag?

I've no experience with the NeoMag magazine carrier, so I'll not address that directly.

In regards to "Kahr tends to “tilt” the first round in the mag for feeding. So it tends to drop rounds into my pocket", it's been my experience that this is in an issue that usually occurs with 9mm Kahr magazines that have the old style poly follower ( http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?29809-new-kahr-mag-followers ).

Other than using using a closed end magazine carrier, there are ways to mitigate the chance of the above happening:

ProMag 9mm Kahr magazines are not as prone to loose rounds, but I haven't found their magazines to be as reliable as I would like (YMMV). I believe their follower is a good design, but the material used (all poly) is not an optimal choice (IMO).

You can modify Kahr followers to mimic the ProMag follower. I've found this helps retain rounds and improves chambering rounds.

IMO, Kahr's "new" follower (as linked above) certainly seems to be pretty similar to an older Kahr follower that has this mod done.

Finally, there is Lakeline LLC's follower: https://lakelinellc.com/shop/metal-m...-for-9mm-kahr/
It gives you all the favorable characteristics of the above listed options and it's made of metal!
I really like this product: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGcxqd5WFWI

You could also search for early, all metal Kahr followers. I have them in my MK9's magazines; they chamber rounds smoothly, work reliably, and I haven't had any rounds come loose from them. http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.p...metal-follower

    Bottom line, get Lakeline followers.

    Regards,
    Greg

Didn't we at one time determine that one could tweek the feed lips in just a tad bit towards the front and that cured the dropping rounds.
My memory is turned off this morning but our friend down in Oregon, ????? he'll hate me for this....made a tool for doing it.

Just a bar with a little slit cut in it.

I do think the Lakeline followers are a great option.

Great explanation and information Greg!! You even connected all the information.
I think the forum needs to give you a title! I mean Bawanna is the Colonel, you need a title as well! You always provide great detailed and referenced explanations!
Maybe you could be the "wizard of Kahr" or something or maybe the wizard of the gun.

Agreed. Everybody put on your thinking caps and come up with a flashy title for Greg.

FYI, my title is like honorary southern plantation colonel, not a military rank, nobody would take me and I feel badly about that but alas it's water under the bridge now.

    Lets find something really flashy.
