    Default The best handgun caliber

I saw this on another forum. It’s full of good info and objective analysis. Apologies to those who’ve already seen it, but it seems especially appropriate to post where so many carry 380 pistols and worry about being under armed.

Well, I consider a defense firearm and a "bug out"/survival firearm two different critters. Then throw in home defense vs personal/carry defense. As has been said many times, no one firearm can cover every possible use, need or want.

That's why most of us have more than one firearm.

This is about the best argument for "The best gun is the one you have on you" that I've seen.

Also, seems like the prepper would do well with their defensive gun and a S&W460 mag using the requirements in the video. The 460 giving an argument for the only gun considering the amount of common calibers it can fire.

Asking me to have just one caliber, or worse yet just one gun, is just plain crazy talk.
Much like asking a girl to have just one pair of shoes - LOL!

No, I didn't read the article.
But these one best gun or best caliber arguments are so old and tiresome...

    Guns are tools.
And depending on the job - different guns/calibers make for better tools.

The best caliber answer may be as many as you can have near by... Grab the best one for the needed purpose as it arises.

I’m trying to figure out how to carry a pocket .380, my highest capacity 9mm, my CZ Scorpion, and my Tavor all at the same time, oh and all of them concealed too.

I feel safe enough to leave my .308 and shotgun at home (for now anyway.)
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

The best caliber is based on the need from concealment to security to utility.

This runs from 22 LR to 300 Blackout.

All of us have a good perspective on this.

What if, theoretically, you could only own one gun? I've thought about that, and in spite of the fact that I'm weary of Glocks my choice would probably be a G19.
