Thread: Found a gem (I hope).

Default Found a gem (I hope).

Stopped recently at LGS just to see what's new , what's used, what's on consignment. In the "consignment" section I found this PM9 with manual safety, LCI and night sights. The firearm looked almost mint and everything worked. The asking price was $400 which seemed little bit high for a used gun. Asked if they would accept $350. After a store clerk made a phone call the gun owner agreed to my offer. Couldn't be happier that day. When I got home I stripped the gun, inspected, cleaned it and lubed it. It didn't look like was fired a lot. Slide looked pristine, the slide stop was very stiff to push out telling me that the previous owner didn't take the gun apart too often. Now I can't wait for the weekend to come soon enough to take it to the range. Hope I found a gem.

Sounds like great deal! Congratulations! I have the PM40 and it's one of my favorite pistols. If I could change one thing on it, I'd get the one with the manual safety. The slide on it is stiff too, which is normal (at least on the 40), as it helps keep the recoil down. And for an extremely lightweight 40, the recoil is very well controlled. All this is to say don't be surprised if your slide remains stiff, though it might not as it doesn't need to fight the recoil so much on the 9mm.

    Nice.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.
