    Default CM45 peening the barrel

I have noticed some peening of the barrel on my . I was wondering if anyone else had seen this and if maybe it is a sign I need to change the return spring, it has 800 rounds fired and no malfunctions out side of the first 50. The slide shows no signs of it being hit only the barrel. This is left side right side is the same. Thinking maybe just weak spring.

    Hey there,
You'll need to upload your photo to an image host, then post it's url here. I use https://postimages.org. It doesn't cost anything and has worked well so far.
After you have 30 posts, the forum will allow you to attach images by uploading them here.
    Regards,
    Greg

You must mean peening, otherwise this is going to be a first, even for Greg.

I'm gonna go with peeling as there is no sign of wear reported on the slide.

Degrease, then wrap the barrel in a urine-soaked rag. "Moisten" as needed, and after a couple days you'll have a nice brown finish.

As it's not a locking surface and your pistol has been functioning well, I would not be overly concerned about it.
Also, with that many rounds through it, I suspect what has been done will be the extent of it.

Thank you Greg that is what I thought but wanted to conferm it with someone. I was hopeing another person with a cm45 would have a similar result and say it was of no consuquence. I have put another 50 UMC 250 gr with no problems and no further peening. I cleaned up the metal that was pushed or pealed back and it remains smooth after this range session so I will quit worring. Mike
