    Default Gunbroker Auction Question...

I need a second opinion. Is this accually a MK40 "Elite" or a regular MK40 with night sights?

I can't say for sure but I thought Elite's had Elite on at least one side.
This shows sold now so maybe a moot point.

Looks like a regular MK40 to me.

The elite mk should be more melted than standard, tapered mag well, and polished internals. Might say elite, might not. Either way, it sold for a good price.

Thanks all. I thought that and was hoping that maybe Kahr released some MK40s without the engraving.

I won the auction. I read the title and the details carefully, but didn't realize it wasn't actually an Elite model and his description was incorrect until afterwards. I emailed him to ask him thinking maybe he just used stock photos he found or something, but he admitted he made a mistake and took an extra $35 off, so I got it for $330! Not what I wanted, but for the price, I'm happy.

You did fine, real fine on that one. The Elite in script looks kind of cool but other than that and a bit of cosmetics it's the same gun.
With the night sights and all you done good.

    Enjoy.

You'll still like the mk. I carry an MK9 daily. You still did well! Congrats!

Congrats on your purchase. Be sure to circle back and give us a range report.

You got a good deal. You can make your MK40 shinier than an Elite with increasing grits of sandpaper and some polish. The "Elite polish" isn't really all that shiny.
