    Default Charles Daly beater

Picked this up as a fairly inexpensive beater. It's made by ARMSCOR and was imported by Charles Daly back when Michael Kassnar (also KBI) had the brand.
It had a funky finger groove adapter on it (which worked surprisingly well), but that was quickly removed. The mainspring housing fit loosely. I tried another housing with the same result, so I just gave the frame a friendly squeeze in the bench vise and everything is snug now The front sight got some orange paint to make it easier to see, but I later found it shot off from it's sights. A little work on the rear sight with a persuading tool soon had it on the mark. I've only about 50 rounds through it, but there were no issues with any of them. I kind of like it's look.

    Regards,
    Greg

I like the look too, kind of unique. Like the look of the trigger too. Probably state of the art when it was made.

I like it! I would certainly like to have it in my collection. Nice find, and good job getting it tightened up! It's so much fun in the improving on one alone.

Well I added a set of under $20 shipped, wood grips to Chucky. I like these because they were already cut for the style of ambi safeties on this gun. I didn't see in the auction that they had also been relieved for a mag well that goes over the grip bushing. Fortunately, it was well done and barely noticeable without the piece in place.

I had painted the front sight, but revisited that deciding to go with a hole/dot. I went with yellow paint because it was near at hand. The hole is done in a way that as the sights become properly positioned the more closely it shows as a dot (well something like a dot) to the operator:

I like that yellow dot. It’s unique and stands out. Not bad looking grips either.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Haven't seen one yet that would be easy to part with. Only thing limiting me from being in the market for anything that goes bang is my piggy bank.

I sold my Shadow 2 recently and have sold other guns in the past.
However, I've only sold one 1911, I traded away a RIA mid size and a full size Colt 1991. I lost a Colt Government and a Colt Combat Commander in a divorce when I was overseas. I'll probably continue to hold on to the rest. America's pistol, you can't have too many of them or Bowie knives.
Always nice to see you posting here MB.

    Greg
