    Default Practicing with a PM40

I was wondering what were the lowest recoil types of practice ammo.

I took the new gun out to the range a couple times, and have trouble hitting anything.

If it were a 357 Magnum, I'd switch to 38 special.

    But don't have that option,

Are the lighter weight loadss like 165gr less painful that the 180's?

    sudo,

I introduced a friend to .40 S&W a couple of weeks ago. I started him off with 165 gr. PMC FMJ. Then 165 gr. Federal AE FMJ. Then 180 gr. Federal AE FMJ. Then 180 gr. Speer GDLE. And, finally, 180 gr. Federal HST JHP.

The 165 gr. PMC seems anemic compared to the GD and HST 180 gr. carry ammo.
