I use a thumbs down grip, so no.
Understand that many use thumbs forward (particularly competition shooters).
Thumbs down works for me and gives me better weapons retention.
I don't think the two grips are right or wrong - but right or left.
Asked Mas Ayoob this very question and got the same answer...
