Default It finally happened to me!

I've mentioned on numerous occasions that no man should go through life without owning a Wilson 1911.........................
Usually a pipe dream for folks what live on my side of the tracks but alas it happened to me.
I saw this gun which belonged to a sgt at work when he got it as a gift in 2006. It was breath taking and just exuded quality just holding it.
Fast forward to last week and myself and different sgt were trying to remember who in our dept had that Wilson, we couldn't remember.
Now this is no BS, the very next day sgt 1 brings 4 guns in boxes to my desk, wants help selling them. He doesn't love them, isn't a collector and only interested in guns he will use.
He warned that I might cry a little bit.

One of those of course was the Wilson. When I opened the foam lined case (not original) I didn't even recognize it. It was super dry from sitting in the case probably that whole time since 2006. I didn't cry but I wanted to.

Fortunately it cleaned up swell. Virtually no wear, it was just dry as a bone.

Well already long story cut short he accepted a very low ball but honest and up front offer with me explaining he could get a lot more than what I gave him. He said it was more sentimental value than money and he'd rather me have it than somebody on gunbroker.

Here's a few pics. Had my granddaughter and son hold it for some modeling experience, hoping they go pro, make tons of money and can support me in my declining years.

This one took a few years off my time this side of the sod, thought he was gonna drop it. But he didn't, thank you Jesus.

So to all my kahrtalk pals, if it can happen to me, it can happen to anybody.

Beautiful pictures. The gun is nice too.
I suspect Michael Bloombergs Moms Demand Action would throw a fit.
    Good on you.

Congrats Colonel!! That is a fine firearm. I believe it has found a worthy home.
The kids are really great and surely could have modeling careers ahead of them, but you are a braver man than I....I probably would have them standing on that matteress you can drop an egg on without breaking it.
If the internet hype about the ole 1911 being too heavy is to be believed, both of them kids must have pretty firm handshakes (especially that young man).
    Thanks for sharing boss.
    Regards,
    Greg

That's great, it means you've been generating some good karma! Or is it Kahrma?

    Nice add to your collection.

Also that granddaughter has grown. Must be eating good. Either that or you and I are getting old and it’s been that long. I remember the first pic you ever posted of her and then the one of her holding I believe that mares leg you made a stock for. Looks like she’s twice as big now.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.
