Default Pm 9 with black slide needs a little touch up any suggestions?

My PM9 has a little wear on the first 3 slide serrations on the slide release side only. I would like to touch it up and was wondering what would work the best. Someone suggested I try Casswell Stainless Blackening Gel Kit. Anyone ever tried it or anything else that might do the trick?

I've never heard of that kit so no experience. I suspect it would work and cold bluing often times works better in the gel form than the liquid but it depends on the finish and the metal and all kinds of stuff, so it's like stain, you never know what your gonna get.

I have some of Caswell's stainless blackener in it's liquid form
It's a acidic solution. There is a possibility of it marring the existing finish.
It produces a finish that is more a smokey black or dark gray than black.
The finish is not very durable for high wear areas.

It has it uses, but, outside of touching up some screws and pins, I've found it lacking for touching up blackened stainless guns.
If you do choose to try it, test it on a wear spot on the inside of the slide.

    Regards,
    Greg
