Default So is my Kahr carbon steel?

Seller tells me the serial number is: AE03**

So is that carbon steel or stainless?

Here is a photo. *Hmm....I don't see how to insert a picture.

Well I broke down and called Kahr, speaking with "Julia" who is just sweet as she can be. Apparently my Kahr was made September 18, 1995 and is "4140 carbon steel" according to the supervisor on duty. I had thought all K9's were stainless from the get-go but wow, learn something every day. She said it was among the earliest she has encountered.

I intend to be carrying this as soon as the deal is completed.

Thanks for the info and congrats on the K9!
I have an early one myself. You might want to see if yours has a trigger bar like the current production guns. Mine is an "AD" serial number series gun and has a trigger bar that is different from what is currently used. The trigger bar spring is different as well, but the current spring can be bent to function with the older bar.

    Regards,
    Greg

    That’s just a beautiful pistol.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

The deal may not go through....it appears the seller was planning to make a profit off of "shipping and insurance" price quotes. I am sure this is pretty common but this time, I called a seller out on it.

That is a very pretty pistol....where did you find a flat base magazine? *I think Kahr's really need a flat-based magazine option. I don't need a "finger rest."

Looks like the baseplate from a PM9 6 round mag. You can buy those from Kahr.

OK, so one can put a PM9 baseplate onto a P9 7 round magazine? If so, count me in and thank you!

Good news! The seller accepted my counter offer on shipping insurance, so I will get him a payment out today. Wish me luck!

I will get a pic up ASAP along with a range report.
