Default The Great Bug Out for when the Hard times come.

Panic stocking now, and later no ammo. And then later the virus mutates and of course then the Zombies. You may need to head for the hills. Are you ready? SURVIVAL, DIRTY ROTTEN SURVIVAL.

    Bugout-

    12ga Shotgun wt. 4 1/2 lbs. 18" barrel-
Mine shoots 12 ga, 20 ga. 22.cal 9mm. will buy more calibers. Actually bought a second one with a 22" barrel and scope mount.

Very well built. Solid and they come with drilled for Beretta Chokes and One Modified. I bought extra chokes and under $150.00 You can see the Turkey choke on the right.

First day out. The bottom target was first. I had a Bulky fiber optic sight- Top target I shot with just the bead sight at 25YDS no rest. 9mm.

I used the Short Lane 8" rifled barrel.

I am going out this week and use the Scope mounted 22" with a 3x9 scope.

Iím not bugging out. No way no how. Wife recovering from cancer, adult daughter with cerebral palsy and an 88 year old mother in law.

Nope. At the first zombie sighting Iím popping off every round I have. Why? Because I know we wonít survive and I paid for it so Iím gonna use it.

Actually I first bought the shotgun because of the weight. (or lack of). When I deer hunt. it is in a swampy mess. I spend most of the day walking in. Needed a very light weight shotgun. This worked out great. Saw the inserts and just went from there. It is a very versatile weapon in many respects. (Glad to hear your wife is recovering, hope things work out for the best for your family)

I'm not going anywhere either, if I go I'm taking everything with me and it's just too much work. When/if things turn ugly stay outside the property line or identify yourself as a Kahrtalk member and you'll be ok. Do say it loud though, I don't hear too good ya know?

I think you are missing the point. It is about survival. To include food, hunting. Use of your own hand gun ammo and more. It is not a combat defense weapon. So what gun would you use since you have one gun to kill a bird, rabbit, deer, or human? What carry pistol do you have. I would be using a 17 rd duty size gun 9mm on my hip, plenty of it in storage. Not good for killing a small bird. You want a 30 rd mag AR that is fine. But the idea of a 12ga. 20ga, 9mm or other calibers is about survival. And I have taken many deer over the years with just ONE shot.
They call them "Back Pack" weapons for a reason. No, not good for fighting Zombies. Especially when attacked by more than a dozen.
Again, it only weighs 4 1/2 lbs.

After this is over (and it won't be "over" until the vaccine is a success (if) and becomes in wide use) the subculture of "prepping" will become mainstream.

I would love to have a place to go but I really cannot take my father, my aunts, my neighbors, and everyone else that depends on me. My fiance is 11,000 miles away right now and I can't take her. I think about a "bug out place" often, even years ago, but I want to basically live there full time anyway. Far away from the main road, self sufficient for a year or so, etc.

At the moment food is still available, the power and water are still on, I'm in a free state with good neighbors. WV did go to "lockdown" either tonight or will tomorrow night but I support the move. I can still do P90X at a rental property and if stopped, I can honestly say "I am going to work" as I will be renovating it some while doing P90X there. I don't see police being able to enforce the order anyway. I will take my bike and ride it on the property, I do own a share of it.

Bug OUT? Most people don't have a place in the boonies or have a planned place to go. There might be MILLIONS of people heading to "the woods" and most will have no real experience or knowledge about surviving in the "boonies".

I have no illusions about our chances for "bugging out". Our house isn't a bunker or located away from people who might want to "share" our resources. We have weapons, but this house is NOT defensible and two of us don't have the capability of defending the three sides with windows and doors.

I do have ammo, weapons, helmets, and armor for me, but we couldn't hold off much of an attack. That said, we aren't going to "bug out" and will stay in place. We have no prepared destination with supplies and enough distance and separation from the "zombies" that will be spilling out of the city and looking for stuff to "share".

We do have enough supplies to stay in place and get by for months. We have an artesian well with a 2gpm flow and I have filters and the capability to hook that up to the house for running water and flushing the toilets, but don't know how the sewage will work. We have a hassock potty and plenty of kitchen trash bags that we use for the potty. We can dig a hole if need be. We'll cope somehow.

We aren't social butterflies and don't have any friends that we visit often or that visit us, so we are on our own. I do have several friends in my close neighborhood that seem prepared with weapons at least... one a policeman across the street, but I expect he'll be busy at his duties and I'll be watching for any bad activity in our area. I'm always doing that, anyhow.

Wifey had about $14.5K in her 401K and its down by over a third and may disappear, but we are both retired military and receive Social Security, so we have money as long as the government does not fail.

Believe me when I say that I was very worried about all of our income coming from the government while Obama was in charge of his corruptocracy and trying to FAIL our government!

Donald Trump is trying to do his best to save our country from the fate that Obama and Hillary were planning for our nation.

Thanks for posting and I get your point. Thatís kinda why I like the 10/22 takedown. Been looking at the Ruger PC Carbine for the same reason because it takes Glock mags. I love light weight functional firearms.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

My Sub2000 suddenly seems like a good idea after all. It can hide in a backpack and hold 30-round mags of 9mm to match my M&P.
