    Default Lakeline upgraded striker

I have shot the CW380 just fine with no problems. However for the new 380 I ordered the upgrade striker from Lakeline. Have any of you that have installed them taken the time to do a good polishing on them before installation? The Picture looks like it has a coating on it.

    Tks

I did not polish mine. The Lakeline is a dull darker color. It never crossed my mind to polish it.

muggsy: Let's face it, being shot by a .380 will ruin anyone's day.

Yep, darker color. They are made from a tool steel, so I wouldn't be surprised if the darkness is because of a light preservative finish (black oxide?).
Surface smooth, so I did no polishing on mine.

So I just bought a used PM9 and went thru the entire fun to clean and lube. The striker looked fine, from what I could tell. The gun was manufactured in 2007. This is the first I have heard of a striker issue. Should I consider replacing the striker?

Sorry, just figured out this mostly a 380 issue!

Did he redesign his striker since its initial release? I purchased a Lakeline striker for my P380 when they first came out. I'm always nervous about new releases...if Lakeline did redesign the striker, what did they change or improve/fix from their earlier model?

I’m not aware of any redesign to the Lakeline striker.
