    If you go to the hardware store and buy some o-rings, that just fit over the screws, that works pretty good, on keeping them from backing out. I used to know the size, but don't have it handy. I ordered a bag of 100 years ago, and still have plenty. The o-rings do wear out, but it takes awhile.

    I recently cut off pieces of some automotive vacuum hose to use on some 1911 grip screws. Worked great, had extras if they wore out.

    That is a good idea jeep. How did you get them to come out with a uniform thickness? Every time I try to cut off a small piece of hose for anything the cut is never square to the sides.

    I just used sharp scissors. They really don't need to be perfect; they squish into needed shape.
