Sharpie worked for me until I lightened the slide lock spring a tad.

+1 on a chopstick...works great, they are tapered so pull back the slide and stick it down from the top until the slide/frame marks line up and you no longer have to hold on to anything...they are soft wood and can't scratch the gun and they are free....
