    Default Interesting Kahr in pic

Was looking at an article on the Bearing Arms site and saw this pic of a Kahr that looks like it has a thumb safety (I circled it in red in the attached pic). I’ve never seen that. Am I just not “in the know”?

Kahr has been making some models with thumb safeties and other "features" like magazine disconnects and loaded chamber indicators. The last two items are on California Compliant pistols.

I don't know the history of the thumb safety models and which are available. This is the first one that I saw at kahr.com: https://shopkahrfirearmsgroup.com/pi...ty-and-lci.asp

I know that there have been models so equipped... with the thumb safeties, at least, for a long time, but they are kind of rare. Most people who carry these for defense don't want added encumbrances. We just want to be able to draw and shoot with one in the chamber. KISS principle.

It seems to add about $114 to the retail price for the extra "features".

It's for folks in Maine I think, they require a thumb safety. Been around for awhile.

All I found were the P9's with the additional safety "features". The add-ons cost more than the $114 I said on some models, but yes, the thumb safeties are required for Massachusetts compliance. And California models may or may not have some of the internal features. It varies by the model, but the thumb safety isn't required out there, I guess.

The Kahr site is terrible when you try to search for something. At one time I had a page of all of the P9 models, then I couldn't find it again. Searches are just crazy there!

Kahr also introduced a PM9 that is MA compliant: https://www.kahr.com/kahr-pm9193-9mm/

It has the LCI and the ETS, but I'm not sure about the magazine disconnect as well.
