old style night sights from Kahr

Hey all,

I have an old K9 from 1998 whose Trijicon night sights have been dim for years now. I know that Trijicon can re-lamp them if I send the slide in.

I assume that Trijicon stopped making the old style at some point, and these are old new stock. My concern is buying the sight from Kahr might get me a night sight which won't last as long, since it's been on the shelf for years.

Which way would you go? Re-lamp or buy the old style night sight from Kahr?

I've no idea what Trijicon charges to re-lamp a sight.
Would you be swapping out sights yourself (no gunsmith costs)?
Perhaps Kahr customer service could advise on the manufacture date of the sights they have on hand.
I'm all for the most cost effective path.

Hello stompbox, welcome to Kahrtalk....I’ve lost count of the pistols I’ve sent to Trijicon for night sights and have never been disappointed with their work so if I were you I would ship them your slide and if they can relamp your existing sights, that’s great but even if they have to replace your sights with new ones the price is about a buck fifty plus shipping so IMHO you will come out best letting Trijicon deal with it and not going through Kahr.....Trijicon is a great company and their customer service can’t be beat so I would give them your business....Good luck and let us know how it comes out and again welcome to Kahrtalk....

You can pick them up on eBay, and Optics Planet at times. Meprolight still makes and sells them for the old style dovetailed (pre-Nov. 2004), slides. I put a set on my MK9 last year. Their Part No. for the old style sights is ML15109G

Thanks all for your replies. I'll have to ponder which way to go. Love my K9. It's no longer my primary carry gun, but it's a joy to shoot when we go to the range.
