    Default Mauser's

I have a Mauser made in the 1920's for the Shah of Iran by Brno in Czechoslovakia. The fit and finish for this military arm are the rival of any modern day custom gun. With my hand loads it is is a joy to shoot, and is very consistent in its accuracy. I guess If I had to choose my favorite caliber it would be between the 8mm Mauser and the 30-06, with the 8mm edging out the 06' by a touch, not because its a better all-around cartridge, it just seem to capture something in my imagination. Too bad I can't post pictures.

That is too bad, I'd love to see some photos.

I looked up the interesting history of this rifle...

That was interesting. Thanks for posting.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Send them to me again Robin, I'll post them for you. This is a must see.

I hunt with my 7MM Argentine model 91 Mauser. Hand load for it and on a good day I can cover three shots from a rest at 100 yards with a dime. Once had three shooters with one shot each shoot a sub quarter size group. It does have a Timminy trigger in it to help though.

Dustnchips, This one is a one holer at 100 yards too with my handholds. I have not hunted with it but my son has and took a beautiful eleven point buck with it using one of my hand loads.

I found a scope mount for the Mauser that does not require any alteration from original.

I put a Vortex scout scope with long eye relief on it. At my age, picking up the iron sights can be difficult so this is a way around that without devaluing the gun. Hunting with it is back in my future.
